Outdoor Compressors and Heat Pumps

Inspect the exterior unit for level settling, coil fins clogged with debris, and physical damage to fan guards. Verify that the line set insulation is intact and that the exterior disconnect switch is within line of sight of the unit.

Defect: Damaged Refrigerant Line Insulation Observation: Suction line insulation on the exterior refrigerant line set is degraded and missing near the service valves at the outdoor unit. Venting and Combustion Air

Combustion venting requires careful visual inspection. Check for single-wall vent connectors entering masonry chimneys without thimbles, inadequate clearance to combustible materials, rust perforations, or improper slope along horizontal vent runs.
